The second Ghana SME Expo dubbed, Business Sense 2012, an international exhibition and conference designed specifically for businesses and start-ups, opened yesterday in Accra at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This important event, under the theme, “Growing Sustainable Enterprises through Finance and Technology” is sponsored by Vodafone Business Solutions (headline sponsor), UT Bank and Nyani and Co Ltd.
It is scheduled for 31May-2nd June 2012. Taking part in this year’s Business Sense are over 30 SMEs, nearly 60 delegates and an expected audience of 3,000 visitors made up of CEOs, MDs, business owners, entrepreneurs and people who want to start their own businesses.
Honourable Hanna Tetteh, Minister for Trade and Industries who was Guest of Honour and keynote speaker, opened Business Sense 2012.
According to Paul Asinor, Event Director of OML Africa, organizers of Business Sense 2012,” the second Ghana SME Expo is for anyone starting a business or expanding a business in Ghana. With a conference, exhibition, one-to-one advice and networking events, it is the perfect opportunity to find all the tools and information to start and develop a profitable and sustainable business in Ghana.”

Therefore, issues of acquisition of capital and SME funding has been given prominence with a special SME Finance Day set aside for delegates to meet banks, venture capitalists, local and foreign institutions. International speakers and local experts will address Managing Directors, Executive Directors, CEOs, Business Owners, Business Development Managers on all key areas of business including but not limited to writing of business plans, the use of the internet in maximizing returns for small businesses, accessing capital, business law, accounting, marketing, sales, customer service, human resource management, etc.
